Steve Tippins graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in History. He received his Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2009.
During law school, Tippins clerked for The Law Office of J. Christopher NeSmith, in the Northern Judicial Circuit as well as Preston & Preston in the Waycross Circuit. He also served as Secretary followed by President of John Marshall’s Federalist Society chapter.
After passing the Bar in 2009, he went to work for the Superior Court in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, serving two years as staff attorney/law clerk for the Honorable T. David Motes (Chief Judge), Joseph H. Booth and Currie M. Mingledorff II. The Piedmont Circuit encompasses Banks, Barrow and Jackson County. His time as a clerk has given Tippins unique insight as a litigator.
Tippins is a published author. He has written an occasional column, entitled “The American Tory,” for various newspapers throughout the state and he has been published in The American Conservative. Tippins is a member of the Federalist Society, and while attending the University of Georgia, he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha’s Nu Zeta chapter.
